Freedom, Culture, and Community ROC the Block Brings Juneteenth to Tampa Bay
Juneteenth is one of the most significant dates in American history. On June 19, 1865, Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, with news that the Civil War had ended and that enslaved people were free  more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation had officially taken effect. Today, Juneteenth is a federal holiday and a moment for communities across the country to reflect on that history, celebrate Black culture and achievement, and come together in a spirit of unity. This weekend, Tampa Bay has one of the best places in the state to do exactly that.

ROC the Block Inc. is back with its 6th Annual Juneteenth Festival, and this year it is bigger than ever. The main event takes place Saturday, June 20 from 2:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Raymond James Stadium one of Tampa's most iconic venues and admission is completely free. This is a true community celebration, open to everyone, designed for all ages, and built around the idea that honoring history should feel joyful, inclusive, and alive.

The lineup covers everything you could want from a full festival experience. Expect live DJs, artistic dance performances, and musical guests bringing energy to the main stage from start to finish. The KidZone gives younger attendees their own dedicated space to play and participate, making this a great option for families who want to share the significance of the day with their children in a meaningful but fun environment. Food trucks line the grounds with a variety of options to keep everyone fueled throughout the afternoon and evening.

Beyond the entertainment, the festival has real substance. Community resource booths connect attendees with local organizations and services. A job fair and health clinic are on-site, reflecting ROC the Block Inc.'s mission as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit to create events that do more than entertain they uplift. Retail vendors and local businesses round out the experience, giving Tampa Bay entrepreneurs a platform to showcase their work in front of a large, engaged crowd. This is what a true community festival looks like: celebration paired with purpose.

ROC the Block Inc. has spent six years growing this event into something Tampa Bay can be genuinely proud of. Their mission is straightforward honor shared heritage, foster unity, and inspire awareness of history through dynamic, inclusive cultural experiences. The Juneteenth Festival is their signature event, and every year it gets larger, louder, and more impactful. Showing up is a way of saying you are part of this community and that the history being celebrated matters to you too.

Raymond James Stadium is located at 4201 N. Dale Mabry Highway, just minutes from South Tampa. Parking is available on-site. No ticket, no cover, no excuses just show up, bring the family, and be part of something that means something. This is Tampa Bay at its best.
