Last Call for Summer: SummerFest at Keel Farms Wraps Up This Weekend
Summer is not over yet but it is getting close, and this weekend is your last chance to catch one of the Tampa Bay area's most beloved warm-weather traditions before it wraps up for the season. SummerFest at Keel Farms has been running every Saturday and Sunday all summer long out in Plant City, and this weekend, August 1 and 2, is the final hurrah. If you have been meaning to go and just haven't made it out yet, this is the weekend to stop putting it off and just go.

Keel Farms SummerFest runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday, featuring free water slides, free bounce houses, food truck-style eats, refreshing drinks, and family-friendly fun for all ages. Entry is completely free for all guests. Bring your swimsuit, sunscreen, and your own towel, and Keel Farms brings the fun. It is the kind of setup that sounds simple but delivers in a big way  especially for families with kids who have been cooped up inside dodging the Florida heat all week and just need somewhere to run, splash, and burn some energy.

What makes SummerFest stand out from your typical summer event is the setting itself. Keel Farms is a popular, veteran and family-owned agri-tourism destination in Plant City, Florida, just outside Tampa. Home to Keel and Curley Winery and Keel Farms Agrarian Ales and Ciders, the farm is a full experience not just a parking lot with a bounce house. There are wide open green spaces, a relaxed backyard atmosphere, and the kind of laid-back Florida charm that makes you forget you had anywhere else to be. While the kids are sliding and jumping, the adults can grab a cold craft beer, a glass of fruit wine, or something off the food truck menu and actually sit down and relax. That combination  kids completely entertained, parents genuinely at ease is harder to find than it sounds.

Guests participating in water activities must sign a waiver upon arrival to receive a wristband. It takes about thirty seconds and is completely worth it. Plan to arrive a little before 11 a.m. to get the wristbands sorted and claim a good spot in the backyard before the crowds fill in. Weekends at Keel Farms tend to draw a loyal crowd, and the final weekend of SummerFest will likely be no different. Keel Farms is located at 5202 Thonotosassa Road in Plant City, roughly 30 to 35 minutes from South Tampa via I-4 East a drive that is absolutely worth it for a full afternoon of free family fun.

Summer in Tampa Bay goes fast, and the weekends that feel endless in June always seem to disappear by August. This is the last one for SummerFest, and it is a good one to end on. Pack the car, load up the kids, grab a towel, and head out to Plant City for a Saturday or Sunday that everyone will actually enjoy. Free water slides, cold drinks, good food, and a beautiful farm setting there is genuinely no reason not to go. keelfarms.com/summerfest has all the details.
