90 Feet. Three Seconds. History.

There are events, and then there are moments you tell people about for years. The Red Bull Cliff Diving
World Series landing at the St. Pete Pier this Friday and Saturday firmly belongs in the second category. Florida has never hosted this event before. The
Gulf Coast has never seen anything like it. And for those who show up, the bragging rights are permanent.
A custom-built diving tower designed to echo St. Petersburg’s iconic interstate welcome markers rises
from the northwest end of the pier, facing the North Yacht Basin between the pier and The Vinoy Resort. Women launch from 70 feet, men from 90 feet. In roughly three seconds of freefall, athletes hit speeds of 53 mph before entering the water with surgical precision. Each diver completes four total
dives across the two days, scored by five judges on take-off, mid-air position, and entry.
Reigning champions Rhiannan Iffland and Gary Hunt headline the field, which includes U.S. athletes Kaylea
Arnett, Lisa Faulkner, and James Lichtenstein competing on home soil. After this stop, the series moves on to Copenhagen so this is America’s one and only shot at the 2026 World Series live.
